Our structural engineering capability covers requirements analysis, concept development, design feasibility, detailed design and documentation and constructability assessment for vessel structures.
This includes hull structure, shell/ballistic plating and major support structures (masts, kingposts, server platform), bulkheads, decks, trunks and enclosures, and major equipment foundations.
Our engineering design and assessment is conducted in accordance with applicable classification society regulations.
Onboard Training System (OBTS) Improvement

Rubicon Associates was contracted to perform detailed structural static and dynamic analysis and provide design change recommendations on the proposed installation of a new onboard training, assessment and qualification system.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant Replacement

Rubicon was contracted to recommend a suitable replacement Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant on HMAS CHOULES. We completed an in-depth Engineering Assessment that studied ADF and International requirements and specific performance characteristics for OEM offered RO systems. Detailed design of the chosen RO system is ongoing and involves expert design of electrical, mechanical and structural interfaces.
Design of POD Auxiliary Lifting Frame

Rubicon was engaged to complete detailed design, structural analysis and fabrication details, including welding and procurement specification, for an Auxiliary Lifting Frame and supporting double beams designed to support the load of Canberra Class LHD electric POD propulsion systems.
