Welcome Herath Hemakumara – Design Draftsperson

Rubicon Associates is delighted to welcome the newest member to our growing team, Herath Hemakumara as our Design Draftsperson (Hull/Structure).
Bringing extensive Defence experience, Herath has been involved in projects across the Navy’s fleet in marine engineering, structural and mechanical surveying, ship building and developing new engineering technical drawings for vessel maintenance, reporting fleet management and shipyard related tasks and work practices.
Outside of his Defence experience, Herath has worked on new ship builds and repairs, oil and gas rig maintenance, international airport developments and rail track projects in the United Arab Emirates and Dubai.
Herath holds formal qualifications that include an Introduction to Naval Combat and Weapon Systems – UNSW, Certificate III & IV in Automotive Electrical Technology, Diploma in Management, Certificate in Marine Construction and Design, and Draughtsman Apprentice in Mechanical/Structural Designs.
Herath aims to use his knowledge and experience to contribute to all aspects of naval vessel maintenance, design, and engineering management.
There is no doubt he will be a valuable addition to our organisation with his range of skills, depth of experience and alignment to Rubicon Associates’ commitment of promoting excellence in maritime engineering.
Herath will be based in our Melbourne Office.
