Navy Vessel Class: The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) currently operates four PALUMA Class Survey Motor Launches (SML’s) which are fitted out to operate in the shallow waters of northern Australia. These vessels carry the latest in survey and computerised hydrographic data processing equipment.

Rubicon Associates was contracted to complete a Detailed Design Package (DDR) for the upgrade of the PALUMA Class Satellite Communication (SATCOM) equipment.
Project Outcome
Utilising subject matter experts in mechanical, structural and electrical systems integration, Rubicon Associates was able to produce and deliver a Detailed Design Package to the client. The upgraded SATCOM equipment was installed on the PALUMA Class of vessels, providing a crucial capability upgrade to the vessel class.
