In collaboration with the client, Rubicon Associates undertook a steady-state toxic gas flow Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis. The CFD analysis also provided coarse, steady-state based information about local high levels of turbulence due to flow around objects.

Rubicon Associates was engaged to support the client’s Asset Integrity Management System, undertaking independent engineering assessment of seawater system components to ensure ongoing equipment performance and reliability.

Rubicon Associates was selected to provide Program and Product Management Services and Support, which included the placement of a Commonwealth Onsite Representative during the construction of the AORs at the Navantia shipyard in Ferrol, Spain.

Rubicon had extensive involvement in Life of Type Extension (LOTE) tasks for the LEEUWIN Class Hydrographic Ships. Projects included: HS Navigation Radar; SATCOM & ScanEagle Upgrade; Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) Replacement Assessment; and Bow Thruster System Package.

Rubicon had extensive involvement in Life of Type Extension (LOTE) for the Class. Upgrade projects included: SML SATCOM Systems; SML Fire Boundaries; and AC Power Generation & Distribution.

Rubicon was contracted to recommend a suitable replacement Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant on HMAS CHOULES. We completed an in-depth Engineering Assessment that studied ADF and International requirements and specific performance characteristics for OEM offered RO systems. Detailed design of the chosen RO system is ongoing and involves expert design of electrical, mechanical and structural interfaces.

Rubicon was engaged to complete detailed design, structural analysis and fabrication details, including welding and procurement specification, for an Auxiliary Lifting Frame and supporting double beams designed to support the load of Canberra Class LHD electric POD propulsion systems.

Rubicon is heavily involved in ‘above the line’ work supporting the SEA1180 project with involvement in the tender evaluation group and project implementation.

Rubicon Associates was contracted to complete a Systems Requirements Package (SRP) for the RAN’s Leeuwin Class Hydrographic Ships Bow Thruster Variable Speed Drive and Control System replacement.

Rubicon Associates was contracted to complete a Detailed Design Package (DDR) for the upgrade of the PALUMA Class Satellite Communication (SATCOM) equipment.
